In April 2009, the government announced the introduction of The Early Childhood Care & Education Scheme (ECCE). This scheme aims to provide one year of free pre-school education to every child in Ireland aged between 3 years 3 months and 4 years 6 months on 1st September each year. The scheme will commence on 1st January 2010 and children, who on 1 January 2010, are aged between 3 yrs 7months and 4 yrs 10 months, will be eligible.

Octopus are registered for the ECCE Government Scheme. Please contact us to book your free pre-school place for January 2010.

For children who qualify, the government will contribute a‚ 48.50 per week, covering the cost of 2 hours 15 minutes childcare per day for 5 days per week OR 3 hours 45 minutes per day for 3 days per week.

For those children who qualify the government will contribute a‚ 64.50 for 3 hours per day for 5 days per week.
